Please describe your service to our country: 2003-2008 US Army, 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment – 4 Combat Deployments.
Please describe what the SOF brotherhood means to you: True example of family, camaraderie, and selflessness.
How has the transition from warfighter to civilian gone? There are a lot of aspects of civilian life that I don’t care for, but it also allows time for family and personal goals in life.
What is the name of the business you started? Rinehart Custom Leather
When did you start it? July 2017
Why did you start this company? To turn a new found passion of leathercraft into an opportunity to provide more income for my family, thus providing them a better life.
Please describe your products/services: Handmade, high quality, custom leather goods, ie: holsters, belts, sheaths, wallets, etc.
Where is it located? Chillicothe, Ohio
What does this company mean to you/why is it important? I am continuing the skillset of my grandfather.
What have been some challenges as an entrepreneur? Learning the business side of running a business! Marketing, documenting income and expenses, etc.
What is the best part of being an entrepreneur? Sharing an otherwise dying craft, providing more income for my family, and enjoying a “therapeutic” activity that requires attention to detail.
How did your SOF career prepare you for what you are doing now? (In what ways have you drawn on your experiences as a SOF soldier in your business life?) Attention to detail, care of equipment, shouldering more than my share of the task – 100% and then some!
